Data Recovery Terms and Conditions
Data recovery is a specialized service that involves attempting to retrieve inaccessible, lost, or deleted information from a variety of storage devices. While Prime Tech Support uses professional tools and industry-standard techniques to recover your data, success is not guaranteed due to the nature of data loss and the condition of the device. By proceeding with our data recovery service, you acknowledge and accept the risks involved. The terms outlined below explain our diagnostic process, no-recovery/no-charge policies, confidentiality practices, and important service limitations to ensure transparency and protection for both parties.
No Guarantee of Recovery
While Prime Tech Support uses advanced recovery tools and techniques, there is no guarantee that data can be successfully recovered. Recovery outcomes depend on the condition of the storage media, type of failure, previous recovery attempts, and severity of the damage. By proceeding with our services, you acknowledge and accept that full or partial data loss is possible—even after diagnostics or recovery attempts.
Customer Responsibility for Data Backup
It is the customer's sole responsibility to maintain current backups of all important data. Prime Tech Support is not liable for any data loss, corruption, or inaccessibility that occurs before, during, or after our recovery process. Our service is a best-effort attempt, not a guaranteed outcome.
Estimated Turnaround Time
Most data recovery cases are completed within 3 to 5 business days. However, turnaround time may vary based on the device’s condition, storage size, or if third-party tools or parts are needed. We will provide updates during the process and notify you of any delays.
COSTS
Diagnostic Fee:
The diagnostic fee is $80.00 and is non-refundable, but it will be applied toward the final recovery cost if you proceed with the service.
TYPES OF DATA RECOVERY
Once diagnostics are complete, we will inform you which type of recovery applies to your case:
-
Logical Data Recovery – Starting at $250.00
(This includes file deletion, partition issues, OS corruption, or accidental formatting.) -
Mechanical or Electronic Data Recovery – Starting at $600.00
(This includes issues such as clicking drives, failed read/write heads, PCB damage, or firmware corruption.)
RUSH SERVICE – OPTIONAL
If time is critical, you may choose our Rush Service for an additional $200.00.
Rush Service includes:
-
Immediate diagnostic priority as soon as the device is received
-
Expedited labor throughout all technician-controlled steps, including teardown, analysis, and recovery prep
Please note: The actual data extraction process cannot be rushed. Read speeds depend entirely on the health and condition of your device, especially in mechanical or degraded drives.
Rush Service is non-refundable and does not apply toward the final recovery cost.
HARD DRIVE FOR DATA TRANSFER
To complete your recovery securely and efficiently, we require an empty external hard drive to transfer the recovered data.
-
Please provide a drive within 24 hours after diagnosis is complete
-
If no drive is provided, we will supply one and add it to your invoice
-
The cost of the transfer drive will depend on storage size and market availability
Prompt delivery of a drive helps avoid delays or further data degradation in unstable drives.
DONOR DRIVE OR REPLACEMENT COMPONENTS (IF REQUIRED)
In some cases, successful recovery may require a donor hard drive or compatible replacement parts.
-
If this applies to your case, we will inform you of the specific item and the associated cost
-
These items are non-refundable and must be paid in advance to continue
-
The cost of the donor drive does not apply toward your recovery invoice
We will only proceed with donor components upon your full approval.
